PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXAMPLES
PEARSON | BLACKBOARD LMS MIGRATION TO SAAS

A migration project moving Blackboard LMS from a managed hosting solution to SAAS.

Following the re-design of their LMS it was my responsibility to project manage the migration to a SAAS environment. From initial requirements gathering to migration testing I was involved in the full project lifecycle. Working with a remote PM counterpart at Blackboard I was the first point of contact liaising with the Pearson technical team and internal departments to manage a smooth transition to a fully operational SAAS based system.

As an early adopter of the SAAS solution I was asked to present the process and share our experience to the London Blackboard User Group who are a group of London Universities currently using the Blackboard system.
KINGS COLLEGE LONDON (CUDL) | PGCERT CHILD ADOLESCENT AND MENTAL HEALTH & VARIOUS PROJECTS

I was initially employed as a Project Manager to manage a full suite of distance learning modules for PG Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health to be delivered via the LMS and Medicine Adherence MOOCS delivered via Futurelearn. Working in a large team of Graphic Designers, Developers, Copywriters, Film makers, Instructional Designers and other Project Managers my role was to manage workflow, resource allocation and track complex projects to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

I was swiftly moved into a Deputy Director role managing the department on a day to day basis. Working with the team to develop departmental and project processes enabling the team to operate more efficiently and troubleshooting issues.

CIRRUS E-LEARNING | MULTIPLE E-LEARNING MODULES

As a Project Manager at Cirrus I was responsible for the delivery of multiple e-learning modules for the construction trades. Working closely with the Royal School of Military Engineers (RSME) and Mid Kent College I had to liaise with multiple SME's, Instrutional Designers, Graphic Designers, Developers, 3D animation experts and third parties to produce high level content.
I introduced a bespoke project methodology process to align with their unique working practices and managed the day to day production of the modules.

KCC & LONDON HMP's | VIRTUAL CAMPUS PROJECT

Using PRINCE II project methodology I was the Project Manager responsible for the rollout of Virtual Campus (a highly secure LMS) to all London Prisons (9) as part of a national rollout of 81 Prisons.

This was a very unique and challenging project working with staff in Prisons to find solutions to various rollout and take up issues; technical, logistical, training and content development problems. Working with and managing expectations of various 3rd parties; Meganexus, NOMS, City & Guilds, Prison Governors and Education Departments.

Because of the political sensitivity of this Project there was a huge emphasis on Project Reporting at both a local and national level with frequent meetings with various stakeholders.
AGENCY PROJECT MANAGEMENT WORK
ATOMIC TANGERINE | MERRILL LYNCH | STAKEHOLDER PENSION SITE

Working as a Senior Project Manager I was solely responsible for the delivery of the site. Working collaboratively with design and development teams at both Atomic and Merrill Lynch I produced project plans, chaired project meetings, managed the budget and produced regular reports to the SMT.
This was a particularly challenging project due to the different work cultures that existed between a financial company and a new media agency. However, using a professional yet pragmatic approach I was able to bridge the gaps between the teams to deliver a successful site for the business.

AGENCY.COM | BRITISH AIRWAYS | GLOBAL SITE

As a Senior Project Manager at a large global agency I was part of a team managing the British Airways website. The site consisted of 25000 pages of multi-lingual content and included flight booking functionality for all flights including Concord.

In this client facing role I worked closely with the Senior Management Team and Account Directors making frequent visits to client sites; reporting on current projects and planning new ones. Internally, I managed and mentored x4 Project managers and x2 Associate Project Managers and was responsible for resource allocation of 65 multi-disciplined staff. Working within the Agency Compass Project Management framework I was involved in the full project lifecycle from concept to delivery and was jointly responsible for the financial management of the £10 million retainer.

BLUEBERRY.NET | MULTIPLE WEBSITE DELIVERY

In my role as a Project Manager I was responsible for the delivery of multiple websites to various clients; CNN Travel, GetMapping, Ben & Jerry's, MediaSurface, Ted Baker, Fat Face etc. This was a fast paced agency working alongside x2 other Project Managers and a multi-disciplined team of designers, programmers and copywriters to deliver and maintain a diverse portfolio of sites.
